My Best Find To Date!
Follow the link below to see the 1899 Quarter I found metal detecting down near the I-44 widening project close to Harvard and 51st Street. I also found a 1921 Liberty Dime about 20 feet from the spot I found the quarter.

Oklahoma 2008 State Quarter:
Shortly after the Oklahoma State Quarter Launch on January 28, 2008 it was discovered that some of the Pennsylvania Minted Oklahoma State Quarters contained a "Die Clash" which according to articles I read occurred in various degrees. The coins with this "die clash" were found in the plastic case containing the P and D mint set commemorating the quarter launch and marked "Presented by Governor Brad Henry and the Oklahoma Historic Center".

Naturally I immediately checked the 10 sets that we had purchased and to my surprise I had one set which contained one such coin. Depending on the severity this irregularity may be visible to the naked eye, the coin I have is a pretty good specimen and you can easily locate the error by viewing the reverse of the coin without the help of a magnifying lens. I've added an image below showing the reverse of the coin and looking at the area between where the lower wing and lower tail feather connect to the body of the bird you can see irregular shapes that appear to be in the background behind the bird.

It's a little hard to see in this image but inside the red square are several marks that appear like boomarang shaped marks. Notice also that the coin is pressed off center and upward quite a bit, this seems to be an issue for a number of the P coins in these mint sets. Another error that has been noted is a extra petal on the right upper most flower which is a little harder to see. I haven't checked yet once I find out which this error is on, P or D I'll be going through what I have of that set.

The link below is to the Oklahoma Die Clash error story on the CONECA Website where I first came across it, note: there are a number of error coins on that page so be sure and scroll down a little less than halfway down the page to locate the Oklahoma Error Coin.
